The Pastoral Call
Rev. Evelyn was appointed the resident pastor of the Estate Community Church of the Foursquare Gospel Church Onitsha From 1980 to 1990 in Anambra State. It was an era when women preachers were not recognized in the eastern region of Nigeria, but with the grace of God and His enablement, even though she was pregnant with their third son, Sister Nwani penetrated the eastern states of Nigeria, preaching and singing. She was invited to preach everywhere from Lagos, to Benin, Asaba, Onitsha, Enugu, Eziama, Obiato, Owerri, Aba, Port Harcourt, Ikot-Ekpene, and Calabar. She was also invited through the recommendation of the missionary advisor to preach in Ghana. She also went on a missionary visit to Kenya, in East Africa. Through her ministry, many women were inspired to be trained for the gospel work. Since then, she has been to many churches in London, England to preach and teach.
Ordination
In those days, it was not easy to become an ordained minister. In the Four Square Gospel Organization, you had to prove your call, through a proven ministry, so, the first lady, Rev. Evelyn, had to go through 3 stages of ministry, namely, the "EXHORTER MINISTER” the “LICENSED MINISTER” and “ORDAINED MINISTER.” She became an Ordained Minister in November 1989.
The American Church Vision
Sister Nwani and her family believe in always being a blessing to the body of Christ. She and her family spent their first 7 years in the USA serving and ministering at churches such as Church of the Harvest, and The Oasis Christian Center. Then God began to speak to her and Her husband to pray about starting a ministry. This is how the ABUNDANT LIFE MIRACLE CHRISTIAN CENTER was born on August 2, 1998 at Hyde Park, Inglewood. This dynamic Church is made up of men and women of faith. She and her Church family are building a remnant church. The members are committed to "discipling strong, Spirit-filled champions for God’s end-time move!" Rev. Evelyn is a psalmist who receives songs from the Holy Spirit by inspiration and with some knowledge of music, she composes all her songs. In spite of working very hard through rough times to support her family and ministry, she has released 4 albums (as she would not want to lose her gift!) Sister Nwani is a pastor with an evangelistic call. She is the president and founder of Women of Faith Intl. in Los Angeles. She has served the body of Christ, as an elected president of Pastors Wives' Association from 1995 to 2001. She also served as general secretary of the African Pastors Association from 1996 to 2000 under the chairmanship of Dr. Nicholas Opuni.
Rev. Mrs. Evelyn Nwani upholds the call of God on her life very highly, serves God relentlessly, and does not easily give up! Her personal motto is, "serve the Lord with gladness!" She is a motivator and a prayerful woman of faith. She believes that you have to be genuinely born again and be holy, for "without holiness, no man shall see the Lord."(Heb. 12:14).
